The last few days have been languid and slow. Summer is not oppressive yet but certainly has changed the speed of everyday events. My next-door downstairs neighbors have moved out after a few evenings of police calls, arguing and plain old scenes in the driveway including the clothes-in-the-yard incident that we all think is a myth. I stayed inside and practiced my Bach and Elton......& Neil Young. "A Man Need a Maid."

Sadness About the Mississippi

Cedar Rapids Iowa has been flooded and Charlotte's pipes are bursting all over the city. A few evenings ago, a 54 inch water main ruptured under Providence Road and officials are so concerned that they asked the WHOLE county to conserve to not over stress the system. Two other water issues have happened in the southern part of the city and we hear that the Providence Road problem will take a few weeks because the pipe that burst is under Briar Creek and is submerged. A new one this morning broke at Tremont at South Boulevard and East Boulevard. This is a massively busy area and there will be chaos.
Our President is rushing to the Mississippi area of floods. I fear that the disaster there is only just beginning and not considering deaths, the situation will be considered as devastating as Katrina was to the Gulf Area.

The heat of the year is here in Charlotte very early. It has not been this hot since he 1890s in this area. It might hit 100 degrees F. today and I must soon have a long enough electrical cord that is made for air-conditioning use. I have been over heated for a few days now. So much going on and so many new thoughts of what the world is really about. I have had a great deal of thought about the creator of our universe and see before me so many paths of understanding and true enlightenment. I do so wish that others will see that there are a few paths to our transcendence not a large number of ways along...but there are more than just one. One must be very careful in saying..... " I am on my way and it seems you are not coming with me..."
