In a city like London, in the right neighborhoods, you can walk around and actually envision it being the Victorian Period. Never is it a hot fog, it is tangible, yet always damp and cool. The Londoners wake up mornings with a wet dew everywhere & the fog is thick at times when picking up the bottle of Gold-Top milk at the doorstep. They would note the "rising damp" and point right at the whole system outside. Fog is more a Fall, Winter and Spring event, but not unheard of in Summer depending on how chilly it might be. You put on your Macintosh, slip on your Wellies, make sure the Bowler is tight on the head & never forget your 'brolly" or finger mitts.
